It's very relasitic and down to earth advice

There’s no such thing as a safe bet – just because a friend or a family member tells you about an investment, it doesn’t mean it is a good opportunity. If it was that good, they wouldn’t tell you about it and instead they would put in all their money. The only reason people tell you about investment opportunities is because they want to diversify due to the risk.

You don’t have to start a business to be successful – if you find a good business you can always buy it, grow it, and sell it for a good return. In many cases it is less risky to buy a business than to start it from scratch

Just because you have money, it doesn’t mean you should blow it – there is no need for small companies or startups to waste money. You have to be scrappy at all times, such as subletting a 660 square foot office space at a good deal and squeezing 12 employees in there as well as a conference room.

If you want to keep making money you have to spend some on yourself – if you end up spending money on yourself, it will create a drive in you that will cause you to want to make more money. If you just keep on saving money, there isn’t much to motivate you to keep making more of it.

Have some balls – stand up for yourself and don’t be afraid to confront others. If you let people push you around, when will it ever end? Letting others push you around may not seem like a big deal at first, but it can impact your life and business in a negative way

Raising venture capital is harder than being stricken by lightning – a venture capitalist usually has no clue about most of the investments brought to him or her. But if you make the investor feel that they can contribute to your company and if you can show growth, the investor must be on crack if they don’t fund you

There is nothing wrong with being last in line – if you miss out on an opportunity, who cares, there are plenty more out there. See who else is involved and think things through carefully before you jump in and make a commitment.

You could have the best interest in mind for your business and think this is the best move right now.  But there have been times in everyones life either business or pleasure when you have taken a risk and it has paid off.

Remember people buy for emotional reasons and justify with logic... The emotion can be hidden but it is always there. Some people buy to be the best others buy so they look intelligent other will buy because of confidence.  Everyone has a different reasons to buy.

When it comes to Branding your Brand, developing a brand strategy can be one of the most difficult steps in the marketing plan process. Well here is the clinical answer.

A Strong Brand is invaluable as the battle for customers intensifies day by day. It's important to spend time investing in researching, defining, and building your brand. After all your brand is the source of a promise to your consumer. It's a foundational piece in your marketing communication and one you do not want to be without.

Now lets look at branding in "real people terms"
Your Brand has a feeling and message associated to it, when someone for example sees or hears "Mcdonalds" they know it is cheap, quick and usually has a fun feeling associated to it for Children/Teens (maybe even adults).  This is a world wide business, when people see that "M" sign they know exactly what it is.
So what have Mcdonalds done different to every other fast food company out there when it comes to their branding and re-branding? I mean they serve 50 million people a day!
they must have done something different...
and what is that?
Price, People, Product, Place, Promotion
McDonalds Stores where given new interiors, new staff uniforms, new products on menus.  An outdoor promotions campaign, with the golden question mark being replaced by the golden arches. Then instead of targeting families and children they went for the Teens.  With Justin Timberlake signing "i'm loving it" they had caputred that audience nicely. Tony Hawkes came on board with his skate board and made things offically cool. McDonalds then sponsored MTV. They went after four main areas: Music, Sports, Fashion and Entertainment.
Beat you never thought McDonalds would be food for thought!

"Industry Drivers"

Well Morning Bloggers, another great day today on the east coast of the Emerald Isles! How long it lasts well you guess that!

Industry Drivers what can they do for your business and how are they used worldwide? Let me tell you more

Here's an idea that big companies use all the time . . . no reason you shouldn't use it in your business, too! A meeting with a marketing executive from almost any Fortune 1000 company sooner or later will touch on the subject of "industry drivers." It's important to understand what "drives" your industry. What are the compelling reasons that make consumers buy your product or service? Why do people decide to remodel their bath rooms and kitchens? Why do people decide to have their carpets cleaned? Why do people replace plumbing or pipes or heating and air conditioning units or electrical wiring? Get the point? People make buying decisions for particular reasons. What " drives" those decisions? By studying the "drivers", you can leverage them for your business. Look at the pizza industry, where there's plenty of competition. What drives people to buy Pizza Hut over Domino's over Papa John's over Caesar's? You can bet the pizza marketers know! No reason you can't operate similarly. Look at the demographics of your customers. What do they have in common? What are their preferences? You've got to understand your customers, and the psychology that drives their buying decisions, to identify the all-important industry drivers that can result in more business for your business! soubds good to me........

"Using Age to your Advantage"

Here's an idea that makes people happy and brings them closer to your business. When you were a kid, there was nothing like waking up on your birthday! Presents, hugs, phone calls from aunts and uncles!  And it made you feel good, too, didn't it? So why don't you use this idea in your business? Doesn't matter the type of business. On a customer's birthday (or anniversary), an accountant could provide a free hour of consultation . . . a carpet cleaner could offer a free bottle of stain remover . . . a contractor could offer a free inspection of a previous job . . . etc. etc. How about calling up your customers and singing Happy Birthday to them by phone?! That ought to make them remember your business.

Remeber attaching good feelings to your brand is a step in the right direction when working towards success!

I have just thought of a great idea.... maybe even sending them a pack of "Wallet Tissue's" with a birthday/promotional message.. now that is thinking outside the box.

Now Range Rover, which screams luxury, has now gone and teamed up with another massive brand "Victoria Beckham". How clever where they? Picking someone who projects perfection, success, rich, sexy and status.  Bringing these two together has now created something much bigger for Range Rover, which inturn will be seen by customers and potential customers as something to be very excited about.

Marketing is alot to do with perception and how people will view you, your business and your product/service. If you have a business that you are currently looking to bring to the next level of success, start to think outside the box, Super Couples, Super Brands, Super Success each of these started somewhere, and when they did start off there was no "Super" anything attached to them............

There are those adds that when you see or hear them, you think to yourself, who ever came up with the campaign was genius. Let start with one add that put a smile on most of our faces, "Evian Roller Babies".  When these happy little tots appeqred on our computer screens, roller blading around the park, it was such a fun image it was etched into our minds. You Tube recorded 27,000,000 hits, and in total on the web, there were over 61,000,000.  How happy were Evian about that?

Then we can have a look at Mr. Obama's campaign, and what a succeful strategy they used online. Lets look at some stats first.  There were 8.5 million people visiting his site monthly, 3 million online donors and 13 million subscribers. On election day Obams's nearest rival John McCain, figures online were showing superior social media success to Mr Obama. Facebook, Myspace and twitter were being used in a way that was only going to give one outcome – winning!

Now some furrys friends we are all used to seeing, Meerkat, car insurance. These little guys talk to us about comparing prices.  Their online success was nearly matched by their offline success.  The was a very simple strategy behind this, Excellent Viral Content plus Heavy Brand Association = Successful Marketing Campaign. Genius

Our next Campaign made the company in question over $150,000,000. Can anyone guess? Dove. Back in 2006, Dove's online campaign for "Real Beauty" was launched. With over 11 million hits, this video was all about our perception of beauty and how this can be distorted.

Now this one is going to transport you right back in time with one smell! This video was watched more in 24 hours than Obams's victory speech. Any Idea? Old Spice. With over 40 million views in one week and over 1.4 billion campaign impressions. Sales soared on this product.

So how many people do you think attend the Patricks Day Parade in Dublin City?

well this year 550,000 people attended from all walks of life.  So how much of a positive impact would advertising be for business owners? well the important part of this, is people dont like alot of "stuff" thrown in their face, so to speak. It is how you decide to market yourself when there are any big events like Paddys Day taking place.

If you are subtle about this and turn this as a positive for your customers well then you will start to gain even more trust and respect in your brand/business. The more support and trust you gain the harder it is for customers to leave as at that stage they have a connection to your business.

"Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish"

Sunday 29th June 1975, might not hold a very memorable date in your mind, but on this date technology was born to the world, that changed everything. This was the first time ever that anyone typed a character on a keyboard, which in turn showed up on a screen in front of them. How amazing that must have been. Computers when they were first introduced, were seen as a negtaive machine, that tired to control people. Lucky for us alot of those pot smoking, scandal wearing, hippies helped create the 21st century. Even though in the beginning it was rejected, but eventually became accepted.  Thank god it did, can you image not having computers, internet, social media, the list is endless, not to mention all those internet business sites that would not exist today.

So what has"Wallet Tissues" got in common with that sixties produced mindset that was great for imagining a world that did not exist? Emotional connection to something is translated by our 5 senses, touch, taste, smell, hear and see.  When it comes to marketing, one of the main goals of most companies is to create an emotional connection with their clients/customers.  When a company does achieve this with their product or service, they then have a client base that is formed on unshakable ground, that will be loyal and communicate this with their frieinds and families.
